Carragher explains why Liverpool didn’t choose Amorim as manager last summer

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has revealed.

That the reason the Reds’ board did not choose Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim to take over from ยูฟ่าเบท former manager Jurgen Klopp was because the team’s system did not fit with the current squad.

Carragher said: “My suspicion is that one of the reasons Liverpool chose Arne Slot over Amorim last summer was because Slot prefer a back four, so the transition was easier for the team he was taking over.”

“Their players will be in a system. Where they have more support from the new coach. That’s something I’ve been thinking about for two or three months. Whether it’s the right choice, I’m not sure. We’ll have to see on the pitch.”
